# What 2FA means and how to enable it safely

> 2FA adds another sign-in check, but only the account owner should add or replace it through the platform's official settings.

## Types of second factor

A second factor can be an in-app prompt, a TOTP code, security key, passkey, SMS, or backup code. Security level and portability differ.

## Safe setup

Open security settings in the official app or on the official domain, complete the ownership check, and add your own factor. Never enter a 2FA secret on an unrelated website or ask support to store it for you.

## Read the product page

Check whether a TOTP secret, backup codes, or only an enabled-2FA state is included. Access to one factor does not imply access to the phone, mailbox, or other recovery methods.

## When the factor fails

Do not guess codes or change data blindly. Stop the inspection, preserve the uninterrupted first-access recording, and contact support with the order number.
